POST-MEDIEVAL TUDOR WHISTLE WITH FLOWER DECORATION Ca. AD 1558 - 1603. A silver whistle of cylindrical form with a rounded cap and an integral suspension loop. The front is engraved with a vertical row of large rosettes backed by radiating leaves, bordered to either side with bands of oblique strokes. The underside is decorated with a single foliate panel composed of overlapping leaves. Size: 36mm x 6mm; Weight: 3.2g Provenance: From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1980s.
