Magnificent KPM Berlin Empire cup with ears of corn and field flowers "en terrasse"
with sloping lower bowl. Conical shape "Antikglatt" with handle à la grecque. Dove blue partial ground. The wall and the rim decorated with a meadow landscape with ears of corn and field flowers "en terrasse" in fine polychrome painting with rich gold decoration. Painter's no. 85, sceptre and painter's mark. Rest unmarked; very minimally chipped; cup h. 6 cm. Saucer d. 13 cm.
The naturalistically designed flower meadow around the wall, the so-called "Fleur en terrasse" decoration, comes from the design of the flower painter Johann Friedrich Schulze (1748-1824).
