Magnificent decorative lidded vase with floral decoration by KPM Berlin, so-called "Weimar vase". Ovoid body over a stepped round foot with relief ornamental friezes of wavy and braided bands, bar, pearl and tongue frieze. Fluted handles on the sides, raised from acanthus leaf reliefs. Corresponding domed lid with sculptural bud finial above a rosette of leaves. Medallion frame on both sides of the wall in a cobalt blue background with a finely etched ornamental border surrounded by oak leaves and ivy tendrils. Within, on a white background, colourful floral arrangements of roses, chrysanthemums, tulips, peonies and forget-me-nots, among others. Extremely fine polychrome painting with richly etched gold decoration. Sceptre and painter's mark. H. 44.5 cm. Köllmann/Jarchow, Berliner Porzellan, vol. II, fig. 536 (mould).
