Magnificent lidded goblet modelled on a 16th century model; silver, partly gilt. Domed round base with wide, pinched stand ring and ornamented relief decoration, merging into a short baluster shaft with vase-shaped nodus, decorated with mascarons. Three voluted clasps as supports for a tall, conical bowl with a delicately flaring rim. Dome rim divided by three high oval medallions with portraits, framed by scrollwork in relief and volute decoration. The domed lid correspondingly decorated and crowned by a standing soldier holding a flag in his right hand. Marked, pseudo mark. Weight approx. 315 g. H. 31 cm.
