Magnificent heavy Biedermeier silver gallery tray. Oval shape with smooth centre. Screwed, filigree, open-worked, high rising gallery rim in the form of mythical creatures in relief with bull and horse heads, mascarons and cornucopias lavishly decorated with fruit. Above this, a slightly flared band of correspondingly open-worked, ornamented frieze, ending in a narrow, godroned rim. Lateral, filigree handles curved from narrow struts and decorated with floral rosettes. Engraved date "den 21. Juny 1827." in the centre. Minimal rest; figure 13 lot, maker's mark. Weight approx. 4770 g. H. 8 cm. 72 cm x 48.5 cm.
