Magnificent monumental potpourri vase with the Russian coat of arms of Meissen
on a square base supported by scrolled volute feet. Baluster-shaped, strongly bulging vase body with rounded shoulder and moulded rim above a stepped, rocaille-relief round foot. Hollowed, open-worked lid surrounded by rocaille relief, merging into leaves in relief, crowned by a large, finely modelled bouquet of flowers. Palm leaves rising in relief at the sides as handles. Below seated Flora and Cupid with a filled flower basket and garland. Above each floating cupid. Fine, coloured scattered flower decoration on the wall. Framed on the front and back by lavishly applied, finely modelled flower garlands with the Russian coat of arms with double-headed eagle and St. George and a large, colourful flower bouquet. Polychrome painting with rich gold decoration. Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Minimally dam.; remainder; base with filled firing crack. Centreboard mark. Total h. approx. 87 cm. Vase h. 72 cm.
