Precious mantelpiece set consisting of a large monumental clock and a pair of matching candelabra. The entire set is made of finely chased and gilded bronze, enriched with cobalt blue enamel inserts and polychrome decorations that recall the opulent taste of the Second French Empire.
1. Standing Clock
Architecture with a broad base with rococo volutes, floral festoons and stylised lion's paw feet. The top is crowned by a classical urn with scrolled loops on a blue background.
Dial: In blue enamel with twelve circular enamel cartouches with black Roman numerals. The centre is richly decorated with floral motifs and red dot inserts.
Presence of two winding holes for the mechanical movement (time and chime).
2. Pair of Candelabra
The candlesticks feature a naturalistic interlaced stem supporting a tulip-shaped bud.
