Prince Otto von Bismarck – a personal visor cap to his cuirassier uniform White cloth with lemon-yellow cap band and piping, high, slightly creased top, Prussian metal cockade in officer’s version (small flaws at the edge), black visor of synthetic material (newly stitched), champagne-coloured silk lining and champagne-coloured leather sweatband with inscription "HV Schön 87". Slightly stained in places, isolated moth damage. Worn headgear in good condition. The object at hand is Bismarck’s visor cap to the dress uniform of the Cuirassier Regiment "von Seydlitz" (Magdeburg) No. 7. Prince Otto von Bismarck was a member of the regiment à la suite from 18 October 1868 and on 26 April 1894 took over the position of regimental chief. Individual details of the cap that deviate from the general standard are the creasing of the top and the short visor, the light-coloured, fine silk lining and the light-coloured sweatband. Moreover, the sweatband shows on its inside the old inventory number of the Bismarck Museum in Schönhausen (Elbe) that was constructed at Bismarck’s birthplace during his lifetime in 1891. Condition: II Condition: II Fürst Otto von Bismarck - persönliche Schirmmütze zur Kürassieruniform Weißes Tuch mit zitronengelbem Besatzstreifen und Vorstoß, hoher, leicht geknautschter Deckel, preußische Metallkokarde in Offiziersausführung (kleine Fehlstellen am Rand), schwarzer Kunststoffschirm (neu vernäht), champagnerfarbenes Seidenfutter und champagnerfarbenes Lederschweißband mit Aufschrift "HV Schön 87". Teilweise leicht fleckig, vereinzelt leichte Mottenspuren. Getragene Kopfbedeckung in guter Erhaltung. Es handelt sich um Bismarcks Schirmmütze zur Gesellschaftsuniform des Kürassier-Regiments "von Seydlitz" (Magdeburgisches) Nr. 7. Die Stellung des Regimentschefs ging am 26.04.1894 an Fürst Otto von Bismarck über, der seit dem 18.10.1868 dem Regiment à la suite angehörte. Vom allgemeinen Standard abweichende individuelle Details der Mütze sind die Knautschform des Deckels und der kurze Schirm, das helle, edle Seidenfutter und das helle Schweißband. Darüber hinaus befindet sich im Schweißband die alte Inventarnummer des Bismarck-Museums in Schönhausen (Elbe), das am Geburtsort Bismarcks noch zu seinen Lebzeiten 1891 entstand.
