Cylindrical banded agate base with gilt mounting and applied leaf ornamentation, merging into a short shaft in the shape of a fully sculpted elephant. On its back an ovoid, lime green enamelled and wave-shaped engine-turned, hinged body. Rich, filigree, open-worked applications in the form of lily of the valley stems with small pearls as flowers. The interstices with applied dragonflies, butterflies and bees set with diamond roses. Inside, the fully sculpted depiction of a reclining deer carved from agate over a light yellow enamelled background. A set garnet cabochon over a volute ornament on the front. Marked 88.
