Spindle-rattle
Made of carved and engraved wood with braided detailing. The slender shaft is decorated with small overlapping sections, each adorned differently with hearts, zigzags and various lattice patterns. Bears the name ‘M.MARIE ROUAU’, the date ‘1874’ and the monogram ‘M’. Two three-dimensional braided sections are positioned on the body, acting as rattles. The top is adorned with an architectural openwork design and mouldings crowned by a heart in the round.
