[QUENTIN-BAUCHART, Ernest]. - Le Livre d'heures de Henri II - Paris, pour la Société des bibliophiles françois, 1890 - Large in-8 of XI, 32 pp. and plates; red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt caissons, double framing of gilt triple fillets, initials "FOY" at the corners, double gilt fillet on the edges, inner gilt lace, royal blue moiré silk endpapers, gilt edges, untrimmed (E. Carayon). Elegant publication on large paper given by Ernest Quentin-Bauchard, for the Société des bibliophiles françois, about the manuscript "Horae ad usum romanum" known as "Heures Henri II" preserved at the BnF under the symbol Latin 1429. The present copy, fully adjusted and finely bound in morocco by Émile Carayon, was specially printed for Count FOY. The iconography consists of a frontispiece showing the arms of France in three states (black, bistre, and coloured on vellum), a dedication leaf to Henry II "Henrico II christianissimo fràcorum regi foelicis" in three states (bistre, black, and coloured on vellum), a coloured plate on vellum showing the "Miracle accompli par Élisée" and a coloured plate on vellum showing "Samson emportant les portes de Gaza". A very fine copy.
