RACINE (Jean).Esther. Tragédie Tirée de l'Escriture Sainte.Paris: Denys Thierry, 1689. - In-12, 157 x 92: (7 ff.), 86 pp. (3 ff. last blank), 1 plate. First edition in-12, published the same year as the original in-4. It presents some variants in the text compared to the latter. The illustration consists of an unsigned plate, located here before the prologue but usually found in the frontispiece. It reproduces, but inverted, the frontispiece of the original in-4, engraved by Sébastien Leclerc after Charles Le Brun. A good copy in a skilfully restored contemporary binding.
