The future general refers to the morality of squadron leader Jean-Jacques Dubus, who resigned and served in Italy in 1805-1806, and whose conduct had been "disgraced by five generals of disgrace". However, Jean-Pierre Ramel recalls a personal anecdote in which he was able to observe the accuracy of this squadron leader's service. Jean-Jacques Dubus, Knight of the Legion of Honour, was made a Knight of the Empire on 28 January 1809.
