Shell rapier. Leather-covered wooden forend. Discoid pommel, single-branch hilt, two inverted quillons (one broken), double shell, raised, line-decorated. Blade with central flat spot signed "ENRIQUE COEL EN ALEMANIA". Length : 103 cm. Spain 17th century. Enrique Coel, blade forger, was active in Germany at the beginning of the 17th century, sometimes signing in German "Henrich Coel" and is said to have been a supplier to the King of Spain.
