Rare Abruzzese edition of François Baucher's famous treatise on horsemanship, entitled 'Volgarizzamento del Metodo d'Equitazione fondato sopra i nuovi principii'. The work is related to the Alta Scuola by C. Raabe and edited in the Italian version by Giulio Lefèvre. The 'Baucher Method' represented a real break with the previous equestrian tradition, introducing the concept of 'lightness' and total decontraction of the horse. This specific edition, printed in Chieti in 1857 by Federico Vella's Typography, is of particular bibliographic rarity, bearing witness to the spread of French avant-garde techniques in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
