RARE GALLIC BROOCH in wrought iron with a long baluster-shaped handle. The handle is in the shape of a stylised figure with outstretched arms and legs. ending in four teeth. Celtic art, Middle La Tène (3rd century BC). Length: 50 cm (Accidents, restorations) PROVENANCE - Collection of Mr F. L. M., Munich, acquired by acquired by inheritance in the late 1980s. - Pierre Bergé sale, 10 October 2017, lot 285. - French private collection. The handle of this rare object is particularly similar to with that of the anthropomorphic dagger from the from Pont-de-Thielle in the Laténium archaeological museum of the Laténium in Hauterive-Neuchâtel [inv N° BE-GAMP-9].
