This name is often attributed to the so-called Golconde diamonds, which were mined in India from the 4th century onwards and were among the most beautiful diamonds in the world (the Regent and Koh-i-Noor are examples). They are also found elsewhere in the world. What defines them first and foremost is their colourlessness! This exceptional transparency and whiteness are the main characteristics of these diamonds, which are very pure. They account for less than 2% of the diamonds mined worldwide because they contain no nitrogen. This rarity makes them highly sought-after by collectors.
