This name is often attributed to the so-called Golconde diamonds, which were mined in India from the 4th century onwards and were among the most beautiful diamonds in the world (the Regent and Koh-i-Noor are examples). This exceptional transparency and whiteness are the main characteristics of these diamonds, which are very pure.
