RARE EGYPTIAN FAIENCE NECKLACE - WEARABLE New Kingdom - Late period, Ca. 1550 - 332 BC. A necklace composed of two main strands featuring tubular-shaped faience beads in a blue hue characteristic of New Kingdom productions, alternating with seed-shaped carnelian and gold beads. Between the two main strands are situated Djed-shaped beads made from gold and inlaid with stones. This piece exemplifies the typical craftsmanship of the late Pharaonic period. The necklace is fastened at the back with a hook-and-loop system. Size: 240/480mm x 25mm; Weight: 14g. Provenance: Private UK collection; Ex. US art market; Ex.
