RARE EGYPTIAN GLAZED STEATITE SCARAB New Kingdom, Ca. 1400 - 1200 BC A scarab made of glazed steatite, featuring a drilled hole. It depicts an enthroned pharaoh with a cartouche inscribed with “Men-kheper-Re,” the prenomen of Thutmose III, on its base. The scarab is crafted with applied red and blue paste and gold string, highlighting its intricate details. Studied by PD Dr. habil. Pieter Gert van der Veen, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
