Rare canvas interlining of SPA 150 of GC (combat group) 16 in heavy canvas painted with the black condor hovering over three-tone camouflage and adorned on the left with the number 15, the pilot's individual number in red numerals edged in white, placed on a wooden panel, In the lower right-hand corner, handwritten label "Insignia of squadron 150 of GC 16, I cut it out of my aircraft (15) which was crushed by aerial bombardment on the night of 26-27 June 1918 at Auvillers airfield", L : 180 cm, width: 58 cm, smallest width: 42 cm. Some wear to the black paint on the body of the condor. ABE Fighter squadron stationed at Auvillers (Oise) from 23 April 1918, shared with SPA 151, equipped with SPAD XIIIs. Canopy of the SPAD XIII assigned to marshal ANDRÉ THÉLOT (former auctioneer from Blois), a pilot in this squadron in 1918. The victory was certified on 31 May 1918. A similar canvas, with a white-breasted gliding condor, but smaller in size, can be found on the Albin Denis website, which is well known to aviation enthusiasts and bears the inscription "Bombardment du 22.6.18 - GC 16 SPA 150". André Thélot, seated in the centre, 1st row, appears in a group photo reproduced here (Albin Denis collection, our thanks). This canvas bears the number 15 painted in red with a white border, corresponding to the numbering of the SPADs of this squadron in 1918. The ochre, light green and dark green camouflage is also classic for the period. However, the white neck is only known from this canvas and the one published on the website. Three other known SPA 150 canopies in private collections, as well as period photos, show condors with black necks.
