Rare printed waistcoat, Alsace, Directoire period, Straight waistcoat with raised collar and small lapels in cream pekin woodblock printed in black, violet, yellow-bistre and green with a pattern of polka dots, false buttonholes decorated with a snail staring from a palm tree, festoons of flowers and tassel cords. On the lower part, a couple of walkers in a bucolic landscape, the circumference underlined by a twist of foliage and a grecque, printed matching buttons. Contemporary taffeta lining in the style of the waistcoat, linen back (good condition despite a few small stains).
