RARE GREEK BLACK-GLAZED RHYTON IN THE SHAPE OF A BULL'S HEAD Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A pottery rhyton covered in black glaze, formed in the shape of a bull's head. The prominent head displays a pair of upward-curving light orange horns extending from the forehead. The eyes are detailed with white sclera and black pupils, while the nostrils are highlighted in orange. The muzzle exhibits naturalistic detailing. A D-shaped handle is positioned at the back, and the form concludes with a flaring spout. For similar see: National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution, Accession Number S2013.3.
