RARE GREEK KALATHOS WITH GEOMETRIC MOTIF Ca. 600 BC. A terracotta kalathos with a sharply flaring rim, the interior and exterior coated in a lustrous black glaze, set above a short cylindrical body left unglazed. The midsection is encircled by horizontal ridges, below which runs a painted frieze of geometric motifs in black slip, including vertical strokes, lozenges, and zigzags. For similar see: E.
