RARE HELLENISTIC HIGH KARAT GOLD HEART-SHAPED PENDANT. Ca. 300 - 1 BC A gold heart-shaped pendant formed from thin sheet with a slightly convex front divided by a central vertical ridge into two lobes, each bordered by beaded wire and decorated with scattered granules. An integral upright loop is attached at the top for suspension, and a curved gold wire with a small beaded collar and terminal ring is fixed to the pointed base. Size: 37mm x 19mm; Weight: 2.4g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was documented and authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery.
