Rare patinated bronze medallion depicting a winged and nimbed lion, emblem of the city of Venice, holding the word SALF between its paws. Mid 19th century SALF, a family of violin makers from Mirecourt. There are violins signed Salf that bear the words "A la ville de Venise" (To the city of Venice). It is possible that Salf was the successor of the luthier Dominique Didelot. Diameter 8 cm
