RARE MESOPOTAMIAN GOLD LION WITH DIVINE HEAD.
Ca. 2200 - 1800 BC.
A gold sheet repoussé appliqué with a striding lion to the left with a frontal divine head wearing a horned cap. The animal is outlined by a pronounced contour with oblique nicks, and the reverse features a folded fixing tab for attachment.
