RARE NEOLITHIC SAMARRA CULTURE POTTERY BOWL WITH SPIRAL MOTIF. Ca. 6000 - 5000 BC A deep pottery bowl with a hemispherical body, slightly everted rim and a low ring base. The interior is decorated in red-brown slip with a central five-armed spiral motif, encircled by a broad band of alternating triangles at the inner wall; the exterior with a red-brown band around the rim and the lower body with fine combed striations. Size: 80mm x 210mm; Weight: 535g. Provenance: London private collection; formerly acquired in the 1990s in London; formerly in 1960s/70s British collection.
