A rare pair of two silver hasteners (hallmark: Minerve), the grip handle with repoussé and chased decoration of a deer's head in a neo-Gothic surround. Master goldsmith. Pierre QUEILLE. 1836-1847. L. 37 cm Weight : 113 gr. Note: These "hâtelets" were part of the neo-Gothic fashion of the 1840s, a fashion due in particular to Princess Marie d'Orléans, who had a set of neo-Gothic salon furniture made for the Tuileries Palace.
