RARE PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS FROM THE CHÂTEAU DE RAMBOUILLET in moulded and carved wood, cream relacquered, backs with basket handles surmounted by burst pomegranates, connecting pieces decorated with stylised flowers, fluted tapering legs filleted with asparagus, the armrests with cuffs decorated with acanthus leaves. Louis XVI period Stamped J.B BOULARD (Receiving his master carpenter's diploma on 17 April 1755, Jean-Baptiste BOULARD began working for the Garde-Meuble in 1777). Tapestry upholstery with floral decoration on a cream background. Bearing the N°7 stencil and the iron mark of the Château de Rambouillet (R surmounted by a crown). Inscribed in English letters "Pour le Roy à Rambouillet". Handwritten label "La Grange Le Roy".
