In the 16th century, the recent discoveries of new lands led to the spread of tales, each more extraordinary than the last, of creatures that had sprung from the imagination of those convinced of their existence. No one could doubt that a Comodo dragon did not have wings like the one in our tapestry. And it was only natural to depict it not far from a crew hunting with falcons. This tapestry is similar to the tapestries in the Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland.
