RARE ROMAN SILVER LEGIONARY CROSSBOW INSCRIBED FIBULA Ca. AD 100 - 200. A crossbow brooch with a pin and solid arched bow engraved with the Latin inscription VTERE FELIX, meaning "Use [this] with luck". The crossbar terminates in three prominent faceted knobs, while the footplate is decorated with a central band of hatched design flanked by circular recesses.
