A very rare and important official document of the Republic of Venice, printed in 1751 by Figliuoli Pinelli, Stampatori Ducali. The volume contains the 'Tariffa d'Ingresso' established by the Deputati e Aggiunti alla Regolazione del Commercio and the Cinque Savj alla Mercanzia, approved by decree of the Venetian Senate on 2 October 1751. The work is a cornerstone for the study of the 18th century Venetian customs system. It meticulously lists the duties applied to goods entering the port of Venice, offering a unique insight into trade flows, the types of goods traded (spices, textiles, metals, foodstuffs) and the economic policies of the Serenissima in its late golden age. Conservation status: Very good. Genuine specimen, with wide margins and rustling paper. Slight signs of use to the paperback that testify to its authenticity. Historical Note: The Magistratura dei Cinque Savj alla Mercanzia was the main economic control body in Venice. This volume is not just a book, but a piece of legislation that governed the economic life of one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean.
