RARE DOUCAI PORCELAIN HU SHAPE VASE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG SEAL MARK POSSIBLY FROM THE PERIOD (1736-1795) The Hu shape rising from a short slightly splayed foot, to a globular body and a waisted neck, decorated with roundels of dens lotus scrolls interpreted with foliage scrolls. The shoulder with a band of ruyi heads and s-scrolls, the neck further stylized with upright stiff leaves. The rim base with petal lappet border, a seal six characters mark to the bottom. In very good conditions, minor dirty spots and minute scratches, a few minor wears on the iron-red glaze, very tiny firing imperfections. 23.1 cm high, 17.6 cm wide A RARE AND FINE HU-SHAPED DOUCAI PORCELAIN VASE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG SEAL MARK POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795) Provenance: from a private mansion in the north of Italy, purchased in the 1990s Note: the lotus design symbolises purity, rebirth, and spiritual enlightenment, while the vibrant contrasting colours (Doucai) palette reflects harmony and prosperity.
