REMBRANDT HARMENSZ. VAN RIJN (Leiden 1606-1669 Amsterdam) The beggar family at the front door. 1648. Etching on wove paper. Engraved signature in lower right margin: Rembrandt f. 1648. 16.5 x 13 cm. Bartsch 176; Nowell-Usticke 176 probably VI (of VI); Hinterding/Rutgers (New Hollstein) 243 III (of V). - Clear and even impression on wove paper, mostly trimmed to the platemark resp. with fine margins around this in places. Partially discreetly stained and with slight traces of wear. The verso with a few older mounting remnants and a few annotations in pencil. Overall in good condition. Provenance: - L. Lepingle (-1903), Brussels, Lugt 1672b. - Albert van Loock (1917-2011), Brussels, Lugt 3751. - Dutch private collection. These objects marked with * (asterisk) are fully subject to VAT, i.e. VAT will be charged on the hammer price plus buyer's premium.
