Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606 Leiden - 1669 Amsterdam) after Self-portrait A copy of the well-known work "Autoportrait à la toque sur fond d'architecture", probably created in the 18th century, of high artistic quality and executed almost in its original size, which was attributed to Rembrandt with the possible involvement of his workshop. In the present version, the focus has been placed on the sitter's physiognomy and his clothing with its elaborate collar and jewellery, while the architectural background of the original painting has been neglected. Oil on canvas, mounted on hardboard. 85 cm x 54 cm. Frame. Provenance: Dissolution of an important German private collection - Part II. After Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669) and studio. Oil on canvas, laid down on hardboard.
