A replica of the lampas border from the summer cabinet in Marie Antoinette’s games room at Versailles, woven by Michel in 1785, with a cream-coloured ‘fond gros de Tours’ ground, and a brocaded design in shades of yellow and green silk featuring acanthus scrolls and oak garlands.
