Warrior standing frontally, head turned to the right, holding in his right hand an upturned spear and resting his right foot on an undetermined object; to the right, a reclining bull seen from the front. The strike is off-centre but powerful. Slight circulation wear and old charcoal grey patina. Superb. Between 90 and 88 BC, the Social War (also known as the Marchic or Italic War) pitted the Roman Republic against its Italian allies, who were demanding the right to Roman citizenship. As a result of this war, Roman Italy was unified and all free men were granted Roman citizenship.
