Beautifully struck, barely off-centre. Slight wear to the right-hand side with minor rub marks. Light grey patina. Superb. According to Virgil, the Aeneid, Aeneas fled the city of Troy carrying his lame father Anchises. They arrived in Italy, where their descendants, Romulus and Remus, were to be responsible for the foundation of Rome.
