Imperial eagle on a thunderbolt, displayed and crowned; below, signature AVELINE. Rv. Crown formed of two branches, in the centre: TEN POUNDS and below (date). Lec.14 - DMP.1045; Silver - 38.5 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the most beautiful example graded at NGC out of 139 submitted! NGC MS 65 (2740356-015). Exceptional quality for this type with only minor strike weaknesses on the eagle plumage and the centre of the reverse. This is the highest technical grade for NGC and PCGS, although the PCGS MS64 from MDC 16 no. 2474 (J. Lecompte collection) appears to be slightly higher. With a beautiful grey patina. Superb at Fleur de coin.
