Fairly broad flan with good centering and the grenetis well complete. Slightly rubbed in the fields. Slight old patina on gloss visible on reverse. Slight circulation wear but with the usual central strike weakness. TTB to Superb.
Coin made with silver recovered from the Portuguese vessel Ouvidor by the French privateer Pierre Bouvet, and named piastre Decaen, after the governor of the islands of France and Bonaparte (Mauritius and Reunion), Charles-Mathieu-Isidore Decaen (1769-1832), Captain General of the French establishments in India from 1802 to 1810.
