Reybaud, Louis. Scientific and military history of the French expedition to Egypt. Atlas. Tome deuxième Paris, A.-J. Denain et Delamare, 1830-1834; large vol. in-folio half blond basane, green titles and giblets (contemporary binding). 34 pp. giving explanations of the plates (quire 3 double and quire 4 missing). This volume two (of two) of the iconographic part contains 150 plates numbered from 161 to 310, and 3 maps, plate 277 placed at the end, before the 3 maps. Important work on the Egyptian expedition. Plates 166 and 309 are enhanced in colour. Upper hinge split over 10 cm, accidents to headpieces, good condition inside. Maps, antiquities, temples and other monuments, pyramids, banks of the Nile, mosques, mummies, objects, views of Malta, Alexandria, Cairo, Karnak, Louqsor, Thebes.... The text not included here was written by Jean-Joseph Marcel, one of the participants in the expedition, and the economist Louis Reybaud. The work, which must have contained a total of 10 volumes of text and 2 atlases, was published in issues from 1830 to 1834 and remained one of the essential sources on the Egyptian Campaign.
