RIMBAUD Arthur (1854-1891). Letter from the Seer to Paul Demeny, 15 May 1871. Paris, Messein, 1954; in-4, publisher's grey paper-backed boards, black morocco spine folder, slipcase (Patrice Goy). First separate edition, preceded by an introduction by Henri Matarasso. It reproduces the autograph manuscript of the famous letter to Paul Demeny, which passed through the hands of Darzens, Henry Saffrey and the bookseller Jean Hugues, before finally being purchased by the French State in 1998. Frontispiece: photographic portrait of Rimbaud as a young man, based on the only known proof.
