RIMBAUD (Arthur). A Season in Hell. Commemorative edition. Paris, Léon Pichon, 1914. In-folio, black morocco with smooth spine, first cover decorated with large overlapping ovoid forms, mosaic of very coarse skin in relief of iridescent colours, yellow, orange, violet, blue, green in gradations, with small semi-circles of translucent resin mounted in the centre of each shape, the whole surrounded by curved fillets in palladium, title in palladium, smooth spine, grey suede lining and endpapers, gilt head, cover, folder and slipcase (Lobstein, 2004). A typographical monument to the memory of Arthur Rimbaud, composed in characters engraved after sixteenth-century Venetian types. Edition of 150 copies, this one of 100 copies on van Gelder laid paper. Sumptuous original binding by Alain Lobstein (1927-2005). From the library of Jan Van der Marck, with bookplate.
