French-style dress, circa 1750-1760, lampas with green cannetillé ground and polychrome silk edging decorated with sinuous garlands of foliage and poppies. Coat in train with Watteau pleats in the back, pagoda sleeves with two scalloped flounces, trimmed with undulating gathered falbalas edged with a fine crest of wisps. Skirt tied at the waist and trimmed in the same way. (Fair condition despite some discolouration and alterations).
