Embroidered dress circa 1795 modified early 19th century, cream cotton canvas chain-stitch embroidered in gold thread and green and fuchsia silk with garlands of flowers, probably India for Europe. High-waisted bodice with small puffed sleeves, gathered neckline bordered by a scalloped ruffle, cream canvas lining with two sliding flaps. Attached skirt gathered at the waist in the back. Pair of disassembled stovepipe sleeves buttoned at the cuffs, (fine condition, never washed, belt missing, alterations).
