One of the most important French atlases of the eighteenth century, comprising an allegorical frontispiece engraved by Charles Baquoy, a historical preface and 108 double-page copper-engraved maps with coloured borders; the first twelve deal with ancient geography (nos. 1-12) and the others with modern geography: world map (no. 10), Europe (nos. 14-91), Asia (nos. 92-99), Africa (nos. 100-101) and America (nos. 102-108). Hinges restored, light wetness in margins of some maps, small tears not serious, some tabs reinforced.
