ROBERT and ROBERT DE VAUGONDY fils. Atlas universel. Paris, Delamarche, no date. In-folio, title-frontispiece engraved by Baquoy, warning leaf, 34 pages including map table, fully mitered, marbled calf, ribbed spine, red edges (Late 18th century binding).
Beautiful atlas, complete with the 111 maps listed in the table, double maps with colored outlines.
Most are dated 1750 to 1756, 4 maps are dated later: 1783 (Mappemonde, chez Antoine Boudet - Amérique septentrionale), 1785 (United States of America), 1786 (Judea; East Indies: chez Boudet). For several maps, the dates in the cartouches have been scratched out.
Old handwritten bookplate repeated: Ant. Lecourt.
Binding very worn, scuffed, jaws split, defects to headpieces. Some stains, foxing and wetness. Folds.
