The book presents a series of photographs taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, accompanied by texts by Patti Smith. Robert Mapplethorpe was an American photographer renowned for his stylised black-and-white portraits, photos of flowers and male nudes. Patricia Lee Smith, known as Patti Smith, is an American punk rock singer and guitarist, as well as a poet, writer, painter and photographer. Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith shared a passionate friendship and artistic collaboration that left its mark on the New York scene in the 1960s and 1970s.
