Pagnier). First edition of this collection by a drawing teacher at the École Estienne. He decorated the book himself: vignettes, headbands, and caps inspired by nature and the art nouveau taste. One of 2 copies on vieux Japon, hors commerce, this one bearing No. 1, printed for Jean Masselin (No. 2 for the author). Bound at the head. - a handwritten dedication from the bookbinder to Jean Masselin with a caricature of the bookbinder painted in watercolour by one of his students. Pagnier explains that he composed this binding during the "bombardment of Paris by Bertha's big Kanons". - 2 letters from the author to Jean Masselin. - Three ex-libris prints by Edmond Rocher. - Test prints of headbands, initials and portrait, printed letters by Albert Samain.
