First edition of the French translation of Roesslin's De partu hominis.
Gothic printing, with 21 woodcut illustrations in the text, the same as those in the Latin edition published in 1535 by the same publisher.
This is the first treatise on obstetrics in French.
The translation is by Paul Bienassis, a physician from Poitiers. "The name of the translator, Paul Bienassis, is not on the first edition, but it is on subsequent editions" (La Bouralière).
